By definition expat guilt is a feeling. It is not a fact, or a certainty. It is a feeling of fear. Addressing fear is one of the best ways to deal with it. You have to be open about what you are feeling, talk it through and figure out a way to deal with it.
As much as we expats would wish those problems wouldn’t exist in the first place, they do. And if you don’t address them, if you ignore them, you may actually regret your expat lifestyle in the end. But if you think it through, take the time and effort to come up with solutions and remember that the expat lifestyle comes with a price, you can be better prepared 🥲
